The Purpose of Beyond Highbrow

“Do I contradict myself? So be it. I’m large. I contain multitudes.”

– Walt Whitman

“The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function.”

– F. Scott Fitzgerald

This is what I am trying to get you guys to do.

I do not like hypocrisy, but I do contradict myself, and that’s ok. For instance, I bash Hillary Clinton endlessly on here, and frankly I absolutely hate Hillary Clinton and I equally despise her triangulating husband.

Nevertheless, I am supporting her candidacy for President and I urge all of my readers to vote for her if you live in a close state or maybe even if you don’t. I will probably vote for Jill Stein because Hillary will win California anyway. I always vote lesser of two evils no mater and I have hated most of the Presidential candidates that I have voted for. It’s just that I hated their opponents vastly more. When I go to vote, it is always a choice between someone I hate and someone I really , really hate. In that case, I always vote for he person who I merely hate.

SD is back, because we learn a great deal about ourselves from those whose opinions are the opposite.

If they are wrong they prove our point and if they are right they prove us wrong.

But either way we learn about ourselves.

Good words SD. I appreciate Robert’s site for exactly those reasons.

I am personally as excited about voting for Trump as I’ve ever been. Trump is running some combination of timeshare salesman, red-pill game, and Art of War. I think he’s really demonstrating clearly that the powers that be that pull the levers behind the parties don’t really give a rat’s ass about who wins between R’s and D’s because they know all the candidates have been vetted through the same institutions and are beholden and therefore controlled.

I also find the Strauss-Howe Generation Theory compelling and that points to this time as a historic inflection point where there’s a great upheaval and clearing out the excesses. Through it, I hold 2020 as a 80-year cycle reflection of previous momentous cycle bottoms: 1940, 1860, 1780.

Anyway, just my thoughts. Brickbats welcome.

I detest the treasoner, Hillary too, and I wouldn’t think of supporting her in any way what so ever.

  3. Bernardista

I live in a state which is solidly Democrat and would never carry Trump, so I’ve decided to vote for Jill Stein too.

Robert, I think I’m flunking the Walt Whitman test because the two ideas I have in my head regarding this election really do give me vertigo.

    Hillary’s foreign policy is hideous.
Donald Trump speaks in a stream -of -consciousness style and uses sarcasm very freely. This goes over the heads of lots of Americans. How will foreign leaders react to it?

Both could easily lead us into WW III but Donald’s ever so slightly scarier.
It’s amazing to me that the country has to choose between such unsuitable people.
I think I need to lie down now.

If Hillary wins the only way to keep White people from being subjugated will be civil war. We don’t have much time. In about 10-15 years a $1,000 computer will be able to do a vast range of things an average human can do. Reasonably smart White guys will be lucky to survive much less all these people we’ve imported. They will be less than useless and a complete hazard to health and safety.

If Donald loses then Whites will have to come to the realization that they’ve been out done by the Jews. I don’t know what the consequences of that will be. When Obama won twice they could pretend that maybe Whites would come together but if Trump loses then hard core tribalism will set in among a large, possibly the majority, of Whites.

I see voting for Hillary as delusional. A non reality based decision as she will accelerate the Balkanization of the country leading eventually to even more horrendous blood shed later.

I’m not exactly sure what Donald will do. My guess is he will go into Syria and kick the living shit out of ISIS. Easy enough as we’re the ones funding them. Then he will back up. Stop the aggression in the Ukraine. Work out some deal.

We need to back away from China. I really don’t care about the South China Sea. It’s not any of our ships going through there. We don’t have any ships.

We should just bitch and sell weapons to everyone except China. Sure fire winning plan that cost us nothing.

  5. Gary Johnson is rising in the polls. I look forward to 3rd partiers like him blowing your theory out of the water.

    • Sam

Gary Johnson is going nowhere. You must be either young or…foolish or both. Literianism is a foolish system that doesn’t work in a multi-cultural society. Oh yeah you can get White people to declare all this good stuff but all the other races look out for their own. You open the borders, as a true Libertarian would, and everyone rushing in would vote for their group thereby crushing your silly Libertarian state into the dust. A Libertarian state would have to be an all White State or it would never work but that’s “rasis” so it won’t happen.

      • I’m not a Libertarian. I’m a Socialist. I’m voting for Gary Johnson because he, unlike Jill Stein, has the best chance of puncturing the two party system, which is the ultimate evil.

Both Trump and Hillary could do damage but I suspect those to be done by Hillary would be harder to reverse, like
1)Immigration and legal abbot to illegals–Once its done, its done. And will attract more illegals; how do you kick them out ?
2)Harder to end wars than start them according to post WW2 US experience.
Comparatively, tax reduction and trade relation could be reversed much easiler. Reagan cut and then raised tax.
3)Its doubtful race relation can be determined by just a top politician
