Ted Cruz Kisses His Daughter in Iowa

Ted Cruz tries to kiss his eight year old daughter on the campaign trail in Iowa and the kid is not too happy about either being kissed or being hugged by him. Not only does everyone else hate Ted Cruz, but his own daughter hates him too!

He tries to kiss her for the camera, and she tries to flick him away with her finger. Then as he hugs her and kisses her, she says, “Ow! Ow! Ow!” He kisses her a couple of times and I swear as she pulls away after the second kiss, I thought I heard her say, “Ugh.” Cruz’s reactions towards his daughter are fine. I detect only kindness and loving warmth from him in this video. But maybe he doesn’t display that towards her at all times. And she clearly doesn’t feel kindness and warmth towards him, more like the opposite.

A lot of people are commenting on this video saying it shows nothing at all, maybe just a kid being bratty or too shy to be in front of the camera. There are a number of other explanations being offered, all perfectly innocent.

However, a lot of other people are chiming saying that they do not like the vibes of this video one bit. This girl clearly doesn’t want to be either kissed or hugged by her father and honestly it looks as if she doesn’t even like him very much. She is actively pulling away from him in revulsion.

I agree with the second interpretation. As a counselor, I do not like the vibes in this video one bit. This video gives off the creepiest vibes to me. I watched it very closely a number of times and paused it many times along the way, looking at it down to fractions of a second. After a lot of analysis, I conclude that this video is very disturbing. She expressions on the girl’s face are priceless. There is a little bit of fear, but mostly I see resentment, contempt and disgust. That’s a pretty bad combination.

Now of course, there could be a completely innocent explanation for this. I am sure you can think of many scenarios which shows that nothing is seriously going on between her and her father at all. Maybe she is just being an entitled, snotty, bratty kid. Maybe she’s had bad experiences with boys at school and now she is repulsed by any man touching her, even her father, in which case, he would be off the hook. And there are quite a few document cases of young girls who become phobic of men’s touch and hence will not even let their fathers hug and kiss them through no fault of the father. I do not know this family nor its dynamics and everyone’s conclusions here are frankly just speculation.

Nevertheless, I do not like the vibes in this video one bit. This is a girl who clearly does not like to be touched by her father, and this is not the only time she has reacted this way. In fact, it looks like something that has happened many times before, and may be going on on a regular basis. He’s done something to her to make her fear, resent and hate him. That initial flicking away with the finger was very disturbing. It almost seems like she is holding up a cross to ward off a vampire. That is the feel that I got off that peculiar gesture.

I assume that most eight year old girls love their fathers just fine. That’s not an age where you are going to see a lot of oppositional behavior. That comes later in the teen years. I would gather that most girls that age love their fathers. Her behavior is not one of a girl who loves her father. That hand gesture almost looks she is trying to ward off evil.

I will tell you one thing. None of us ever acted this way in my family when our father or mother tried to hug any of us. My sister didn’t like my father for most of her life, unfortunately for good reason I suppose, but I think she liked and even loved him when she was eight years old. I think we all liked and loved our father at that age. All the fighting, at least with me, one brother and my sister with my father came later in the Wild West of the teen years.

I can’t think of any of us at that age pulling away in utter contempt and revulsion when our parents tried to hug us.

This guy is a hardcore Christian with a capital C. These are the out and out crazy, wacko, nutcase fundamentalist Christians. I believe that family relations in a lot of these fundamentalist families are a lot more disturbed than people think. Keep in mind that these types believe in spare the rod, spoil the child – harsh punishment for their kids which is basically child abuse except that they get away. And Mr. Cruz has even admitted with pride that he beats both of his daughters. So he beats the little girl in this video.

I am not detecting healthy dynamics in this family.

Just my 2 pfennig.

I loathe Ted Cruz, he was raised being told he was the “chosen one” and believes it, he is far and away the most dangerous person running for POTUS.
That said his daughter could be pissed at him for any number of fairly benign reasons, maybe he reneged on a promise to do something after the Iowa caucus so he can campaign in New Hampshire.

As much as I think it’s important for the left to be willing to be just as nasty as the right during election campaigns. I draw the line at bringing the non-adult children of candidates in to it, no matter how much their parents may use them as a campaign prop the kids don’t really have a say in the matter, so just leave them alone.

    • D Parks

I was thinking the same thing. I don’t think that this means Cruz is somehow horrible to his kid. Being on the campaign trail is probably very difficult for young kids. Maybe she was mad that her father wasn’t coming with her. Who knows? Personally, I do not like Cruz and both he and his crazy father do not need to be near the White House. I suspect the child has some possible developmental issues or is just a cranky tired brat. Again, dislike Cruz, but I don’t think this means that Cruz is abusive to the child.

  3. If I believed Ted Cruz was a redneck ultra-Christian I’d actually be OK with him. But he’s a manufactured Televangelical Zionist with no scrotum who will do whatever the Establishment tells him. The Republican Party was, in part, DESIGNED to deal with these stupid white Cuckstains.

    • EPGAH

Sadly, that’s just about right, he’s pretending to be an Evangelist Christian, but actually, has supported exact opposite everywhere else!

The Kiss was SUPPOSED to show him as a Family Values Man, but instead, it showed his own daughter is repulsed by him!
      EVERYONE should hammer on that!

      “Kids Sense Evil”, right?

I am no father myself but a healthy relationship between a girl and her father exists when she looks to him as a male role model, comparing the qualities and attributes of potential boyfriends with her father. A good father is protective without being overbearing, dotes on his daughter on a regular basis and gifts car, jewellery, money without being stingy…..basically spoiling the “little princess”….a MALE father is the main reason behind the sense of entitlement and unearned privileges that a girl feels is is her birthright. She extends that mindset into all her relationships — no boyfriend will ever measure up to DADDY.

However, far too many girls have abusive relationships with their fathers. These are the ones that tend to be domineering who fiight and yell at the mother all the time. They would even hit the mother and daughter on a few occasions. The climate of fear at home clouds the girl’s personality by her adult age and she lacks confidence. Such girls will never grow to be independent even when the mother has divorced the man and they have moved out. She will always crave a domineering man and would strongly gravitate towards abusive relationships.

Then there are fathers who act distant from their daughters at a very early age. Some of them did not even show up after she was born and she had to be raised by a single mother. Some males would have preferred a son which means they’re gonna act cool towards a female child. The prolonged absence of men in her life reinforces psychopathic, man-hating behavior in the girl when she grows up. She’ll always play the victim, manipulate men to get what she wants and sadistically enjoy his misfortune.

Then there are lowlife men who have raped their daughters. These girls will be seriously messed up when they grow up. They’ll be attracted to self-harm behavior and drugs, alcoholism etc.

You can really tell a lot about a girl’s personality and predict her behavior based by analyzing her relationship with daddy. That is why assholes and dickheads should not be allowed to reproduce. Only a good man creates a good girl.

    • it works the other way too. Some men are more affectionate towards their daughters than son(s).

    • EPGAH

Assholes and dickheads SHOULD not get to reproduce, but the problem is, who gets to decide?

…And actually, isn’t spoiling the child what leads her to think that demanding expensive baubles from her Man is her birthright?
Gold Diggers, Ova Mercenaries, whatever you call them.

The worst part is parents who practice hypocritical Christianity, fail to provide food and shelter (forcing grandparents to raise the kids) and overall exhibit annoying sociopathic tendencies. The daughter of course would then have a good chance of running with bad crowds etc.., unless of course, the grandparent stops the bad crowds and staying after 8 PM on any night. However, I bet that doesn’t happen often.

      • EPGAH

I thought you were saying earlier that if the family Lays Down The Law™, that PUSHES the daughter to rebel, join the bad crowd, and in your family’s case, marry into it?

  5. pepperroncini

Ted Cruz is a slimeball. His campaign started rumors that Ben Carson had ditched his campaign, the intention being to steal Carson’s evangelical vote.

This video is also creepy. Very forced.

    I am leaning towards Bernie/

  6. Jason Y

A family with too many values can be as creepy and evil as one with no values (The small sub-group of white trash I mentioned who smoke tobaccos regularly around 5 year olds etc..). Kids need some freedom to experiment with life. Ultimately, if you can just keep a kid from running with really bad crowds, or just make them come home every night at 8 PM, then your doing well. Finally you have to be a little soft with the kids, not too much though, to seem human.

As for corpral punishment, it can be a good thing. I think the oddness in fundementalist circles comes from the indoctrination on other things, not that stuff.

Yeah, fundementalism comes with repressed homosexuality, production of psychos, homophobia, racism and all sorts of nasty stuff.

    • EPGAH

Your first paragraph was good, then you shot yourself in the foot.

I would far prefer queer phobia than someone who wants to force queers’ rights over everyone else. And similarly a strong pro-self identity is better than feeling guilty over faked-up “wrongs” and wanting to destroy your own group and civilization to help violently ungrateful minorities.

What causes that “nasty stuff”? Maybe NOT spending enough time with the kids and letting their self-worth be based on outside validation rather than knowledge of their own value?

      • Jason Y

Can’t argue with your last paragraph. That’s what went wrong with the “bad branch” of my family An over-sensitive daughter allowed outside validation to have too much power over her. Now as punishment for her sin, one half of the family is dependent on the other half (the educated, working half). We practically had to raise thier children and everything.

        • EPGAH

It doesn’t sound like punishment for her sin, it sounds like the responsible part of your family took on responsibility they didn’t have to, rather than let the irresponsible hit Rock Bottom, repent and atone…Sound familiar?

Your saying a half-truth. True, a strong group identity is needed, but over-kill in this regard can be very evil. Also, maybe the root of the problem, isn’t racial or about sexual preference, but rather a decline in law and order and basic morals.

However, the US government has played a major role in destroying law and order, and morals via corrupt cops, prison/industrial complex among other things.

        • EPGAH

How is overkill in our identity very evil? Did you bother reading Roosevelt’s writings on identity and assimilation?
TLDR version is: Our House Our Rules.
Robert called non-Americans “guests” and if they cause problems, they need to be punished or ejected.
I would add one more: If they come to take or destroy our country, they need to be treated as enemy and destroyed instead.

A decline in law, order, and basic morals? I thought that’s what minorities and their Liberal allies were pushing for, freedom to do whatever they wanted, totally consequence-free, especially PUNISHMENT-free!

Ironically, Government is the one that has to punish them when the parents abdicate that duty. The Omniparent. And whether from parental laziness or active rent-seeking, the Government keeps taking more and more of what used to be parental–and even Parentis In Loco (As in teachers, camp counselors, etc.)–authority. Remember when teachers spanked the monkeys rather than calling in a cop to remove them?
And remember when teachers only had to turn them over to their parents, and you saw TRUE terror on the face of the miscreant?

But it’s our free trade’s effect on poor Latino people that is driving the immigration, OK, where were the immigrants in the 70s and 80s. They could have came then, the immigration act passed in 1965.

        • Jason Y

I definitely won’t argue with ep-gah over parental or school discipline. It seems like in middle school, they stopped paddlings, (they must have been illegal) all there was were in school suspension and whatnot which bullies would laugh at.

        • EPGAH

Very good! They stopped paddling, and look what happened?
In-school suspension allows the bully to stay in school so it can continue bullying its victims, AND not have to do classwork!

Of course, it’s done that way because if the school kicks out a “student”–even a bully–they lose SOME funding. Money is more important than the safety of the kids. If the kid’s really in danger, the parents will move to a better school, right?

The illegals were here in the 70s and 80s. Otherwise, who was Reagan’s Amnesty for?

I don’t think grade schools are so blind that they don’t know what’s going on. Teachers are well aware, but they don’t care. Anyhow, thier responses to obvious buylling are always ignoring it or some weak punishment. Also, and this applies to college also, and you cannot get the law involved unless there is a physical threat, but few bullies physically threaten. They aren’t that dumb.

Often parents cannot move to a better school because they are so established in one area, and often parents don’t really believe harassment is going on.

Yes, there was illegal immigration in the 70s and 80s, but no where near today, as there was no massive free trade then.

        • EPGAH

If there “weren’t that many illegals”, why was there an Amnesty? Just boot them out like Eisenhower did. Remember, this is Reagan we’re talking about.

Or was it because he was fooled into trading Amnesty for a Wall that never got built?

And actually, a lot of parents DO leave the area if they really care about their kids. It leaves the school to the thugs, and the school’s performance goes down. Less funding. It’s why Liberals keep bleating that thug-overrun schools are underfunded, but they won’t kick the thugs out and fix the problem. Do you want to blame that on the “environment”? Are the bullies the “environment”?

  7. Jason Y

sorry fo accidental re-post. I didn’t know this one came on.

  8. Pkjr

Pretty bad thing is bringing personal relationships into politics. Changing one’s behaviour in front of cameras. Would it be so bad for Cruz just to skip greeting his daughter? This shows he isn’t self-confident enough. He thinks that voters would judge it in a bad way if he just skipped his daughter, so he acts in a non-natural way. He’s too aware of the cameras. What a tense behaviour.

    • EPGAH

MOST of them change their behavior in front of cameras, making it a guessing game which is the real “Them”.

Is it the one who told Ohio that he was all for coal, or the one who told California, he’d crack down on coal and pollution?
Is it the one who told the illegals he was on their side, and handed out teddy bears to illegals on camera? Or the one who had a commercial of illegals in suits stealing higher-echelon jobs?

Trump takes a lotta shit for what he says–but he hasn’t let that change his message! “Illegals are bad, but Moslems are going to kill us, let’s lock them both out”…30 years ago, this would’ve been met with derision of how OBVIOUS it is, not how “Evil” it is!
“Yes, and water’s wet, and the sky is blue”

Sessions said this is our last chance, choosing wrong will fuck the country.

  9. at least she isn’t scared of him.

  10. EPGAH

Yes, this is creepy. If HIS OWN DAUGHTER is pulling away, so should the rest of America!

  11. EPGAH

Where do you draw the line as to punishment vs. abuse?

More spanking at home would mean fewer brats so out-of-control that the police need to deal with them, right?

    • Jason Y

The line is pretty obvious. A traditional belt whipping, spanking or paddling etc.. will work However, weird stuff would obviously be abuse.

      • EPGAH

Great! All you have to do is help me undo the law against corporal punishment for bullies!
Do you know when that law was passed?

And actually, some schools HAVE gone back to that–but when they get caught, there’s Hell to pay for the teacher. The school feigns shock, but they HAD to know the teacher was doing SOMETHING to get good results, right? Or do they just chalk it up to Magic?

        • Jason Y

In South Korea, a lot of the teachers join in on the hateful fun of the students, making fun of misfits etc.. Gosh, what a bunch of monkeys, “Oh there’s a mixed raced kid, let’s make fun of him with the students”, or “There goes a retard. HA HA Everybody in the class repeat RETARD”

        • EPGAH

Well, Asian cultures value conformity over all other things.
Less drugs, less crime, but less tolerance.

But let’s fix America, THEN we’ll be in a better place, economically, politically, and “morally”, to fix other countries. Otherwise, it looks like we’re trying to spread our “Anything Goes” amorality, and its attendant problems to them!
Could that be called a “Social Disease”?

  12. Jason Y

We don’t really know why she is pulling away. It could be just some temporary thing. I don’t think it’s necessarily a sign of molestation, though that stuff is common among Jehovah’s Witnesses, Christian Fundementalists (especially the Pentecostal type) etc..

Anyhow I’m distrustful of “too much Christianity (of the fundementalist variety)” It makes people emotionally soft (many often seeking pats on the back all the time). Also, it fosters an incredible amount of molestation, repressed homosexuality, overkill in “isolation from the world” etc..

  13. Kareem

I don’t know if he abusive to her, but I do know that she is a 7 year old who is being hauled around by some large man who tries to force her face toward her father’s. She has every right to be pissed. This seems like the natural result of adults who treat their children like they’re just props.

  14. mott69

First, I hate Ted Cruz. I didn’t like his ad using the daughters as props. But every candidate does it at some point- uses the wife/kids (if they have any) as props.

And the kids (and some wives) usually want no part of it, depending on their age. They want to be in school, with their friends, or at home.

So I will give Ted some slack here- an 8-year old girl IS inclined to be fussy and obstinate at that age. This is when the eye-rolling years start. Plus, she is being held (at her age?) by a stranger- a guy who is just a Cruz aide- she’s not happy to begin with. Then, the forced kiss, which all of us remember- when Grandma or some relative tried to do this, we tried to close are eyes and instinctively recoiled.

There could be a bad relationship, sure. But it actually looks normal, too. Ted wants to kiss her goodbye mainly because the cameras are there- it’ll look “better” if he does- then the whole lame photo op backfires because the kid is cranky. It’s freezing in Iowa and those kids hate this crap, don’t understand it, etc.

Ted is still douche, of course!

    • EPGAH

The man in charge of public relations for the Cruz campaign is Dan P. Gabriel, a former CIA covert action officer and a founding partner of Applied Memetics, a company “focused solely on developing engineered influence for clients seeking to alter their tactical or strategic operational environments,”according to its webpage. The company specializes in propagating memes that ”can move through the cultural sociosphere in a manner similar to the contagious behavior of a virus,” in other words Applied Memetics specializes in propaganda!
How can you get more fake than to have a CIA Agent as your campaign manager?

  15. Jason Y

Fighting deserved corpral punishment in middle school. However, all anyone got was in school suspenstion. The last paddling I got was for not doing homework. Now that I think didn’t deserve paddlings lol. One teacher was so extreme she would even do that in the 6h grade. In the 7th, corporal punishment must have stopped cause I don’t remember it being used and I was in several fights.

    • Jason Y

Paddling should have been used for the people verbally causing the fight, and the guy who eventually, to get revenge, throws the punch. That would have sent a message, even though technically the one throwing the punch had a legit reason.

Has anyone thought perhaps parents are unwilling to admit their children are little monsters who make fun of people, and the school doesn’t want to argue with these parents? Therefore, they don’t advocate harsh punishment against kids throwing pencils, spit-wads, and doing harsh name-calling.

    • EPGAH

That depends on when your 7th grade was. It suddenly became illegal.
Who cares how effective it is, it’s just WRONG, right?

And yes, I fully believe that the parents of thugs don’t want to believe their kids are thugs. However, this coddling attitude extends to schoolwork as well. Noone wants to believe their kid is a slacking idiot. So they blame the teacher for lack of discipline and lack of grades. Now the laws have changed such that teachers have to give losers C instead of F. So we have a bunch of idiots and bullies “graduating” from high school and throwing tantrums in college.

How do you explain these marks?

      • Jason Y

Won’t argue with you there. In other words, moms think their sons/daughters could not be thugs, or white trash. They’re just little angels.

Recently I even went into a rage (I suppose santo-culto is right about me.) and started breaking things, cause i was fed up with this loser who married into our family (I was doing this in my mom’s home in front of him), Sure enough, his mom was defending him, saying my actions were wrong.

        • EPGAH

Well, in that case, sadly, I have to agree. How does a tantrum breaking your Mom’s shit ward off this unwanted interloper in your family?

Anymore than burning down CVS will stop thugs from fighting cops and dying?

But isn’t a tantrum the “10-year-old” mentality you keep accusing whites of?

I never said we shouldn’t take a strong stand in the ghetto, but as I said, the conservative and liberal wings of the controlled debate won’t allow it. They are promoting the prison/industrial complex either knowingly or not.

Robert, you need to check this brilliant article
    http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/cover_story/2016/01/ted_cruz_may_be_the_most_gifted_liar_ever_to_run_for_president.html
To me it looks like Cruz is most likely a sociapath and this video you’ve put up is not gonna to do any favors. Rubio and Sanders aren’t gonna pull any miracles either . Though im not a big supporter of Trump, he seems like a messiah amongst these charlatans. Whos your pick, Robert?

    • I do not want any of the Republicans but I would much rather have a President Trump than a President Cruz.

      • EPGAH

I’m not sure if that’s high praise or faint praise.

Still, thank you for your “support” of Trump!

PS, Trump is NOT a Republican. He’s too different, he’s exposed “normal” Republicans as Democrat Lite. “Same Horrible Taste In Your Mouth, Less Taxes!” Indeed, he only took a nosedive when he started talking about reaching out to the RINOS instead of TAKING them OUT!
Making deals with people who want to turn America inside-out, upside-down, and backwards is what got us to this point. The normal Republicans have CAVED instead of “compromised”. Or maybe “compromise” as in the Titanic’s hull was “compromised”?
Compromise used to mean meeting in the middle, now it means meet at their place, serve their drinks, wash their cars, etc.

THEREFORE, Republicans are attacking him, FOX is attacking him, Glen Beck is attacking him…For brevity, let’s list the Republicans that are NOT attacking him.

I can’t think of any, can you?

        • Tony Swagger

You are absolutely right, I see him socking up the cuckservatives. Wow what a term. Thanks to the one who coined the term. Trump is clearly a stand out. In my mind i haven’t seen any presidential candidate who’s attracted so many and appealed to many as much Trump these days. It seems he is poised to overthrow the GOP establishment completely with his Uninhibited talks and actions.

        • EPGAH

Me too! Are you a subscriber to “Uncuck The Right”?
It’s political Mandragores of Disney songs. They do a great job too!

          Start with this one!

        • Tony Swagger

Good one, but he is not gonna Uncuck The Right. Hes rather going to destroy the republiscam party and take out every single cuck apart, which is good actually.

      • pepperroncini

I actually do like some of what Trump says and prefer him over the other GOP candidates . So who you ging with Robert, or have you not decided yet? Bernie looks promising.

        • I am with Bernie but I worry he is unelectable. Otherwise I will vote for Hitlery.

        • EPGAH

Why would you vote for Hillary? She’s a traitor to this country, taking bribes from all kinds of enemy countries, not paying taxes on them, destroying the Server, “forgetting” to keep backups for official investigation!

This isn’t even the “Dog Ate My Homework” excuse from the IRS, this is “I Destroyed It, But Don’t Worry, Nothing To See Here!”

You were dead-set against her a couple months back, what changed?

        • Killary apparently did nothing illegal. Even the people investigating her say that using a private server for her state emails was not illegal when she did it. So she didn’t even break the law.

She sucks, but I would rather die that vote for any Republican ever for any reason.

I NEVER vote Republican, ever. The only time I might do that is if the Republican is more progressive than the Democrat. I keep looking for such a person, but I haven’t found them yet.

I absolutely do not want Trump at all, but he would be miles better than Cruz or Rubio.

Robert, may be you should do more election related articles like Hunter wallace does these days. You write damn good.

Wow, that video says a lot, even his daughter doesnt like him and he has the belief that the masses are going to accept him…It was damn creepy

    • I work in mental health and I do not like the vibes coming off that video one bit. Bottom line is that’s just not normal behavior. Neither I nor any of my siblings ever reacted that way at that to a parental hug and I can’t say I’ve ever seen another kid that age react to a hug or kiss like that. There’s something really wrong going on there. What, I have no idea. But it’s not really ok IMHO.

It could justbe that he is not normally that affectionate. Fundies often are distant to their kids.

Others have said she exhibits signs of autism – not wanting to be touched, too old to be carried, the “ow ow” which indicates autistic pain. It’s certainly a condition that’s exploding, likely connected to the glyphosate in GMO foods that Cruz so adamantly supports. I hope they give the girls a campaigning break.

I was going to vote for Cruz (I had my reasons) but fuck it, I can’t bring myself to do it, exactly for the reasons “R.J.” stated above. Bernie for me, I will register as a democrat right off the bat and go for Bernie.

SHE REALLY SEEMS AUTISTIC, OR IT IS POSSIBLY ASPERGER’S, A HIGHER FUNCTIONING FORM OF AUTISM.
