Alpha Unit is a Black woman who is a supporter of the Black Women’s Empowerment Movement that can be seen in many Black women’s blogs on the Net. The movement is difficult to sum up. My understanding of this movement is that is it in opposition to many of the stereotypes about Blacks and Black females in particular.

They align themselves with the more assimilated population of Blacks and take offense to the notion that Blacks are rude, uncivilized, ghetto, loud, belligerent and unmannered. To put it another way, they are opposed to the Ghetto variety of Blacks.

I have noted many times on this blog that the Black community is splitting into a Ghetto Underclass style and an Assimilated or Middle Class style. The assimilated ones increasingly want little to do with the ghetto crowd. Ghetto is more of a style than an economic space – many wealthy rappers are still very ghetto, and many poor Blacks are assimilated. In particular, this group is opposed to the notion that Black females are seen as too aggressive.

Instead of just belligerently using psychological defenses to deny the issue, some Black women in this movement are investigating it with the notion towards creating what I would call a New Black Femininity.

This group of women has also been proposing that Black women open themselves up to interracial relationships, in particular with White men.

Abiezer Coppe is the pen name of a British Communist and pro-Palestinian activist who lives in the UK. He speaks French and English fluently and has good Spanish. His father was a former member of the French Communist Party, and Abiezer was also a member of this party. He is also a former member of the Communist Party of Great Britain and recently was active in the Socialist Workers Party (Trotskyites).

About why he chose Abiezer Coppe, he writes:

Abiezer Coppe was an English Ranter. The Ranters were one of the most communistic radical religious groups during the 17th Century English Revolution (see The World Turned Upside Down: Religious Radicals During the English Revolution by Christopher Hill).

They didn’t hold with church or priests, preached naked in the open air, drank ale and got drunk at religious meetings, believed in the community of women (a 17th century version of free love, with iniquitous results for the female enthusiasts, contraception being a primitive and ll-understood affair at the time), were anti-marriage and anti-private property and held that the only True Church was the human body.

The Holy Sacrament was sex, so you can imagine what happened at their open air religious meetings once they all had had a few pints inside them! Radical stuff…! Of course they scandalised everyone else, including the more Puritan radicals, the Diggers (also communists) and Levellers, and went underground in the 1650′s, along with the Muggletonians, Quakers, Seekers and everyone else…

Abiezer also happens to be passionately devoted to the Palestinian cause. He is an avid reader, an intellectual who thrives on political debate, and he’s smart as a whip. He also a very easy-going and agreeable personality.

Joanna Woodhouse is a White woman who was born and raised in Brazil. Her parents were missionaries serving in the interior of the State of Pernambuco. Her father later became an Anglican Priest. She is a freelance writer and has sold numerous articles to various Canadian newspapers and has written three one act plays, two of which were performed on stage locally (she directed one of them).

She speaks four languages – English and Portuguese perfectly – and is merely fluent in French and Spanish.

Dota is an Indian Muslim from the mercantile Bohra community. He was raised in India and Dubai but migrated to Canada in his early twenties where he also completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration. He writes mostly about India and Islam by critiquing their value systems from a historical perspective. His economic views lean towards socialism whereas he leans right on social issues.

He passionately believes that Christianity is essential for maintaining a moral equilibrium in North American society whereas a strong white identity is required to maintain North America’s European character. He opposes multiculturalism and is a fierce critic of Israel and Organized Jewry. He is a Canadian citizen and speaks English, Hindi/Urdu, and Gujarati.
