I’m not reform because I don’t want to be a dyke rabbi. The Reform movement enabled women to become rabbis, but they also accepted patrilineal descent, thereby taking away a women’s unique position as the sole transmitter of Judaism. The majority of reform and reconstructionist rabbinical students are women, but there are more unwed and childless reform women than ever. The female rabbis are a huge turn off, especially to the elderly. (Nursing homes always hire female rabbis.)
