A Black friend says that Whites only like Blacks if they are entertaining. That is, the most ghetto Blacks are the funniest Blacks. That isn’t necessarily true, at least for me.
The more racist a White person is though, the more they are going to focus on negative stuff about Blacks, including extreme ghetto behavior that can be seen as humorous. The racist White person focusses on this because it is humiliating to Blacks. If you hate people, you enjoy seeing them being humiliated and acting stupid you can hate them even more and feel superior to them. You can also enjoy yourself laughing at the same time.
That’s why I often don’t click those videos of “Black people acting bad” that racist Whites leave in the comments. I’m not in a mood to be laughing at ghetto Blacks for acting terrible. As a guilty White liberal, I just don’t want to feed that side of me.
However, the most ghetto Blacks are entertaining if you want to get into your racist side, which a lot of us Whites have not yet let go of. As long as Blacks keep acting bad, there’s always going to a certain appeal to sites like Niggermania and Chimpout. Those sites appeal to literally 10′s of millions of Whites. Even White liberals, on a guilty level.
One appeal to sites like that is their humor. Those are two of the most hilarious sites on the Net. I realize Black people hate them, but as long as they are that funny, they ain’t going away.
I believe in fighting fire with fire. Instead of getting furious at sites like that, Black people should make similar sites. Make a racist humor site attacking Whites that’s as hilarious as those two sites above and I will go to it all the time!
When you go to those sites and laugh, you’re also feeling angry. You’re letting out all your guilty White liberal anger at Blacks for fucking up, being amoral, committing tons of crime and just generally acting terrible. It’s liberating to experience that anger that we White liberals keep bottled up all the time and to laugh at at the same time. Of course the laughter is tinged with anger too.
You can’t think about the good Blacks or the Blacks who don’t act ghetto and bad if you want to go to those sites. If you do, you will feel too bad and you won’t be able to enjoy yourself.
Racist humor of the type portrayed on the websites above will lose its appeal to tens of millions of Whites when Black people start acting a Hell of a lot better. When they start acting nearly as good as Whites do, there will be little appeal to such sites, and much anti-Black racism will also diminish. It’s a dirty little secret that a lot of anti-Black racism is fed and nourished by what other races see as the savage, uncivilized and generally terrible morals, thinking and behavior of so many Blacks. It’s Black people themselves who feed the racist beast.

alot of the dislike surrounding blacks could be because it’s not primarily based on their behavior but how they actually look. I’ve heard that black skin itself and physical features is unappealing, to someone who would be use to a eurocentric face, white face, or any other face, hence the distaste towards them, so maybe that could be a reason as to why they act the way they do or why they are biologically extroverted. Its a survival thing me thinks. If black countries suddenly became post-industrial societies would this dislike suddenly leave?
If Blacks acted no worse than Whites, I do not think many people would dislike them due to the color of their skin or their African features. Forget it.
Speaking about that, Blacks aren’t so welcome in the Islamic world and I am sure you know that. Is this because of the poverty of the African states, slave trade or something in relation to the dislike of African features and skin color? I’ve heard they are not perceived too well in countries such as Turkey. Speaking about Turkey, you should do a post about that place, it’s like Brazil in a sense because it really was/is a melting pot of different ethnic groups and I have heard they have different notions of race then the Western world, similarly to Central/Latin American countries.
As far as why Blacks are hated so much in the Arab World, I am not sure about that. Maybe someone else can shed some light on that subject?

No in general I I’d say the humor is based racism upon first and foremost. You have your target.. then you draw differences between your group and the target group.

I still laugh at racist humor. I just don’t find blacks very interesting anymore. As Tulio once pointed out, it is a little strange that either racist humor or venom is focused almost exclusively on blacks.

I am SO GLAD that you don’t find Blacks very interesting anymore, BAG. You are moving beyond and moving to a more healthy mental space. Maybe because you are not around them so much down in Irvine. I don’t like to be thinking about Blacks all the time and obsessed with them. If I am, I am probably thinking negative things about them because that’s the way it is with Blacks. If you’re thinking about them all the time and you’re White, you’re bound to be thinking negative stuff about them. I’m not that emotionally involved with Black people and I don’t want to be. It’s just not good for my mental health to have a bunch of negative energy about Blacks in my head all the time.
I think you are transitioning towards a place that is more like the mental space where I live in, and I think you will find it to be a happier place.
Well, not reading black anti-racist blogs certainly helps. My biggest rants against blacks followed me reading white bashing black anti-racist blogs.
Also, the way I see it, Hispanics are going to become more and more of a problem as time goes on. I see black issues as becoming less and less important on a national level.
I don’t have a problem with blacks.
I have a problem with hypocrisy.
“I moved because my child’s school had become too black.”
“I don’t shop at that mall any more because the store and shoppers are too black.”
“I was afraid to use the ATM because too many black people around.”
“We better turn here before we go through the black area.”
These should be respected opinions; not the tiny visible tip of an enormous hidden iceberg of racism.
As socialists let’s keep in mind that many race problems are actually class problems. It just so happens in America that Blacks are a good portion of the underclass, for historical and racist reasons. Many people have similar attitudes toward the trailer trash, er I mean White underclass, too.

Hi Peter. As a socialist, I am simply not that concerned about race here in the US. Maybe if I was a White in South Africa, it might be more important to me. I am homo economicus, and economics is really the most important thing of all to me. If you have money, you can always move away from Black people if you don’t like them. Hell, I have no money, and I’ve managed to move away from Black people. It’s an avoidable problem, and it’s certainly not the most pressing issue of all.
I live in a town that is 67% Hispanic. One would think I would be all freaked out and up in arms about Hispanic people, since their culture leaves a lot to be desired. One would think I would be ready to vote Republican just to stick it to the beaners, eh? But I can live with these people ok more or less. I figure this is survivable. What’s NOT survivable around there is economics!
One problem I cannot move away from without leaving the country is economics! Class ALWAYS trumps race in my book. Racial concerns are pretty much a diversion.

Culture is a good point, actually — I like to think that I can dislike a particular culture without having to answer for it, because that would be a question of aesthetics and not racism. Nobody would say I’m “anti-appalachian” if I moved out of Nashville because there was too much country music. Well, maybe they would but I don’t care!
Without going into specifics, there is plenty I dislike about some of the cultures mentioned in your blog and I don’t think you’re racist to post it, at all.

In my other post, I just meant that a lot of WMarkW’s quotes/points were based on class more than race. Obviously people who are lower class are going to steal more, have more violence, etc. IMO “we” (white people) associate that with Blacks because they tend to be underclass and thereby prone to these behaviors.
Likewise (perhaps) with forging an anti-majority identity through culture. I dunno but it seems to make sense to me. There are positive aspects and contributions of Blacks to our society, obviously, as well. BUT, Black culture and, IMO, Indian (India Indian not Native American) culture looks very materialistic to me. Which is definitely not my ideal, and one I would reject for generalization, as a socialist, obviously. I suppose this may just be the effect of people trying to Americanize themselves as much as possible–I mean, what’s the image our society projects to them?

Thank you comrade! We do try to avoid racism here. I have started a movement called Liberal Race Realism, and this blog propounds it. It has been described as:
a dash of race realism
positive white (or whoever you are) racial identity
the leftist view of American history
anti-racism
a base of liberalism
Basically we are trying to marry the reality of what we see as the reality of race (as depressing as it may be to a Leftist) to the Left or liberalism. IOW, how should liberals or Leftists respond to what looks like the reality of race? That is one of the things we grapple with here. I’m a liberal, so I’m not really into nasty, hardcore racism because that’s not part of ideological system. I came out of the liberation movements of the 1960′s and still believe in all of that. All groups must be encouraged to reach the highest of their potential.
However, I also feel that PC has gone completely insane and no longer reflects a sane anti-racist movement or the realities of the way most Whites think. It’s turned into non-White glorifying and White bashing, and we can’t critique any cultures at all as Marxists have always done. All cultures, no matter how reactionary, are to be praised and valued to the skies, unless they are White. Read the Marxists of the last century. The condemned various reactionary cultures to the hilt. At this point I would almost rather talk to a racist than a PC idiot, though they’re both nasty.
Strangely enough in the 40s and 50s blacks were generally portrayed as bumbling, loveable clowns eg Amos and Andy, the ‘crow scene’ in Dumbo.
They were generally not considered threatening or dangerous in those days, but more as simpletons, shoeless southern clowns who were inherently comic.

Well, Barak Obama seems pretty popular with quite a few Whites and I would hardly call him ghetto. That said I think the many Whites consider the Black comedians at their best when they make fun of the misbehavior of Blacks. Two comedians that come to mind are Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle.
