“Communism doesn’t work.”
Yeah, that’s why they beat us in the space race, eh? Fascinating. The US space program had its roots in Communist Yugoslavia. And why not? The Communists prioritized state funding of science, education and state projects in general. Capitalist America has always hated state funding of anything whatsoever, and hence space and other necessarily state funded projects are given short shrift.
You have something there. In the last couple of decades, the US aerospace and aviation industry has gone pretty much stagnant, as far as innovations are concerned. The whole space shuttle project got retired, with no replacements in the immediate future. McDonnell Douglas has been acquired by Boeing while Lockheed Martin is just a shadow of its former glory. Boeing isn’t doing to well either, as its ‘latest’ offerings are far behind in technology has compared to what manufacturers in Europe or South America have to offer (Airbus or Embraer).
From the pieces and bits I have gathered, the US aerospace industry was entirely based off rehabilated communist or Nazi scientists, as part of the various post-1950s rehabilation programs. Now that they are all gone, the US is no longer the technological behemoth it once was.
Indian Space Program
How many other “shitholes” have there own space program?
I wonder if the Soviets had a bunch of designs that never got green lighted due to bureaucracy and lack of funds and resources.
I know the Soviets had their own GPS they were trying to create but never implemented which Russia is restoring and updating today.
You can’t eat a space shuttle Johnny boy.
@Dota
India had the second largest GDP rate 7.8% after China in 2011.
Poverty in India > China
The Indian government sets its own bogus benchmarks to hoodwink the world into thinking that its anti poverty programs are working.
@Dota
Poverty in India > China
That’s because India had a lousy socialist regime for decades and did centralise power and institute birth control like China.
It is now implementing western economic reform elevating millions from poverty, a world class IT sector and now becoming a regional superpower.
“The Indian government sets its own bogus benchmarks to hoodwink the world into thinking that its anti poverty programs are working.”
I think those numbers are from the IMF/World Bank.
How many times I have I told you, John. No rightwing economics?
That does it man. I’m banning you. Bye and have a nice life.
The Indian space program is a classic too little too late, Zionists r Awesome. As for the aerospace program, India is the only BRIC nation that doesn’t have an aerospace industry to talk about.
@Atheist Indian
It is only a matter of time until they develop one now that they have a space program.
For the last 60 years or so, it was only a ‘matter of time’ before India became one of the superpowers. So my fingers are not really crossed over India becoming an aerospace giant anytime soon. I’d rather wait to see more than 50% Indians being able to afford two proper meals a day, for a change.
@Atheist Indian
Like China it only started implementing free market reforms during the 90′s which has lifted millions from poverty which has allowed them to create things like their own space program.
With India’s connections to Israel and the US they will help develop India’s economy with foreign aerospace companies showing interests in developing India’s own aerospace industry.
So I have heard. It is not in US or Israeli interests to develop India’s aerospace industry. For the United States, India is a cash cow, a market for its goods and a country where cheap labour can be sourced from. For Israel, India is a good market for its defence productions, especially avionics, radar and other air support goodies.
India is also an excellent tourism destination for Israelis who served a year in the military, since the average Hindu is the only person in the world with a self-respect low enough to be their emotional punchbag. A lot of Israelis personally look at Hindus as a submissive and mild mannered coolie people – just like the Palestinians were before the Intifada.
Capitalists cannot agree with this truth. They always play the old gramophone record with the voice “communism fails, capitalism heals”.
