Andyboy, the beloved British-Israeli commenter who charmed and delighted so many of you on this blog, has been banned for “hostile attitude.” This was a very difficult decision. I realize that most commenters were endeared to him, and the longtime commenters especially loved him very much. I realize that by doing this I will enrage many of my commenters, and even many longtime commenters will probably leave, but I had to do it anyway. He got too nasty with me one too many times, so it’s back to Tel Aviv or wherever for him.
I hope some of you will stick around. As the rest of you don’t live in Tel Aviv, I doubt a similar fate awaits you. The rules are the rules, and they have to be enforced. I hope you all will forgive me for this necessary but very painful action.
Just why was he anyones “favorite” commentator? Was it because he was both annoying and entertaining about every single argument about Zioninism, Zionists, and how Jews are destroying the U.S? Was he held here for entertainment purposes?

I don’t. I ban almost every day, and I hardly ever announce it, but when regular commenters get banned, I do make a PSA.

Nope. I don’t know WTF is wrong with Jews, but almost all of the belligerent Jews who show up here tend to get banned. The belligerent other ethnic nationalists often stay, but White and Black nationalists are pretty ugly beasts, like Jews.

I think the real reason Asian philosopher quit was because she believed she could flip Robert’s opinion on Hinduism. She responded to some of Robert’s older posts from way back. Once she realized it was futile, and that she couldn’t bash him either, she just quit. But she was amusing to have around. Very shallow and superficial understanding of Hinduism typically observed among naive kids who jump on the pop eastern spirituality bandwagon. Atheist Indian had made the same observation too I recall.

Anyway, there are good reasons people get into eastern spirituality (as there are good reasons they read Rumi)- its way deeper than just fashion- but we’ve been through this.

Since you’re a foreigner this will be tricky to explain, however never forget the power of the media in shaping the self perceptions of Diaspora communities. Her perception of her Hindu identity was certainly tainted with orientalism. Go back to her thread and read her posts and then re-read your own. You clearly demonstrate a far better and clearer understanding of Hinduism than she ever did. All she did was attack, and that’s what Hindutvadis do since they are essentially chauvinistic. There are other moderate Hindus whom I respect and appreciate, such as swami Ram Dev (socially conservative tho) and Shashi Tharoor (although I hate his Neo Liberal economic views).

I never did respond because my laziness got the better of me. I don’t think you were overdoing it either, not sure why you think that. It was a fun debate while it lasted. There is no winning or losing in a good debate, there is just learning.

I don’t like Lindsay’s brand of philosemitism either. I wish more people were simply indifferent to Jews and Jewish issues (and that Jews merited that anonymity) and did not feel they had a vested interest in the decisions jews made.

I was just looking at another website dedicated to the Yowie and they were talking about the Ketchum DNA release. This site suggests that the release will happen on 2/15/2012. I do not know if they have any evidence to support this claim, but their post refered to her with her full name and it looked like it was from some kind of form. Food for thought.
Our end of February release date is straight from the Ketchum camp itself. That’s why we are so sure about it. But thx though. The 2-15 date was from a previous application for a copyright she filled out.
